Pectin: is a substance to help jam set. Naturally, some fruits contain the high content of pectin. They include Gooseberries, Blackcurrants, Redcurrants, White currants, Blueberries. Whereas some do not, such as Strawberries, Raspberries,Tayberries. Therefore, you can measure to add pectin when making Jam by two ways:

-Buying pectin packages.
Personally, I think buying pectin and adding to the sugar is the cheaper way.

Other fruit like gooseberries may need topping and tailing, or even smashing into a pulp, before cooking.

Simply, you just put all ingredients into your bread machine’s pan and choose the correct settings. And the time is about 100 minutes for ready jam.

Ensure all the parts of jars will be thoroughly cleaned before you put the jam into. The easiest ways for you:
-Boiling the jars in a preheated 100-120 degrees within 20-30 minutes.
-Putting the lid into the boiled water for 5-10 minutes.
Step 4: Decanting the jam mixture
Ensure the jam cooked in the optimum conditions for a good set. When the jam is finished, it should quickly be put as possible into the sterilized jars. After cooling in 10-20 minutes, jam can be kept in the refrigerator for longer use. They will last for months.
